As in previous years, the 2007 edition of Fashion Rocks celebrates the synergy that exists between music and fashion. Lindsay Lohan was scheduled to be a presenter of the ceremony’s distinctive "Golden Popcorn" trophy before she checked into rehab last week, was skipping the telecast, her publicist confirmed Friday.

Lindsay Lohan sought treatment after a wild Memorial Day weekend during which Lindsay Lohan crashed her Mercedes Benz into a curb, was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence and was photographed slumped in the passenger seat of a friend’s car [...]

Lollapalooza 2007 music festival

lollapalooza.jpgLollapalooza was conceived and executed by former Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell in 1991. Originally a touring festival, Lolla began to lose popularity by the late 90s and the 1998 shows were cancelled altogether. In 2003 it was revived as a destination festival. Lollapalooza music festival features alternative rock, hip hop, and punk rock bands, dance and comedy performances, and craft booths.

StrikeFest will again take place in Grant Park, Chicago, for the first of a five year contract signed between Lollapalooza and the city. It will take place between August 3-5. Early bird tickets went on sale this year for $165. Tickets were not subject to a service fee and have an optional shipping charge if you desire hard copies of tickets. The standard price of the tickets this year is $195 (without service charges.)

Judge withdrew a plea offer by busta rhymes rapper to go on trial

busta-rhymes.jpgBusta Rhymes will face trial on two assault charges after a judge withdrew a plea offer Monday that would have let the rapper remain free.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Tanya Kennedy withdrew the offer that included probation, community service and a series of lectures to troubled youth. She cited his recent arrest for driving with a suspended license as the reason.

"The court’s offer is off the table," Kennedy told Rhymes.

His attorneys declined to comment as they left court.

Rhymes’ attorney, Robert Kalina, has said previously that Rhymes had been prepared to accept the deal.
