The Grammy Awards
The Grammy Awards, or the Grammys, was originally called the Gramophone Awards. This special recognition for outstanding musical achievements are presented annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
The Grammys is one of four major music awards shows held annually in the U.S., the others are the American Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But the Grammys is considered to be the record industry’s equivalent to the film industry’s Academy Awards (or Oscars).
