A Smashing 2007 Voodoo Music Festival with Rage
Rage Against the Machine, The Smashing Pumpkins have been tapped to headline the 2007 Voodoo Music Experience Oct. 26-28 in New Orleans, both just months removed from having taken the stage together for the first time in years.
The Black Crowes and Dr. John are among the more than 110 acts confirmed for the 2007 Voodoo Music Experience - which expands this year to three days to accommodate the number of artists who comprise the diverse talent line-up.
Rage Against the Machine, continuing what the politically charged Los Angeles-based quartet refuses to call a comeback, is being billed as the Voodoo Music Experience’s marquee act, just as it was at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival back in April, where singer Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk performed all together for the first time since de la Rocha left the group in 2000.
Set for Halloween weekend in City Park, New Orleans’ signature fall music event encompasses three full days of music - October 26, 27 and 28 - with performances from Wilco, Tiesto in Concert, Kings of Leon, Sinead O’Connor, Common, Ben Harper and Galactic, among others. These acts will appear in the Voodoo Music Experience’s three distinct performance areas - Le Ritual, Le Flambeau and Le Carnival - each of which highlights a unique side of the personality of New Orleans.
For its ninth consecutive year–and despite 2005’s devastation to the region - the Voodoo Music Experience will again take place in City Park set amidst lush lagoons, bayous, one of the largest collections of mature oak trees in the world, all in the shadow of the New Orleans Museum of Art and just minutes from the historic French Quarter and Central Business District. The Voodoo Music Experience is known for its wide-ranging line-up of talent that each year reflects the multitude of cultures that define this historic and beloved American city.
